Description Language Department had brought out the book in hand in the year 1970. It was reprint of second edition of the book. The Book was brought out in the view of its historical significance. It deals with a very delicate period of the Punjab history and dilates upon the issue of annexation of the State by the British Government. The author brings to light contain facts which were little known before the publication of the book. He is of the opinion that British Government exploited the Treaty of Guardianship with Maharaja Duleep Singh under the guidance of Lord Dalhousie and also describes the attitude of Anglo-Indian bureaucracy and concludes that the annexation of the Punjaub was not a conquest but a violent breach of trust by the British Government. This particular book I one of 200 copies printed in the third reprint in 1989. The condition of the paperback is described as used and over the years there has been defect but all pages are intact and readable.
